Very excited to be getting my own Simonsound Reverse Engineering T Shirt later today. Dan at Another fine mesh has done an amazing job with the screenprinting, these are not your standard cheap band tee. If you want to support The Simonsound, go buy their stuff.
It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride when it comes to my involvement in The Simonsound project. What started as a low key thing for Simon and Matt to make weird and interesting electronic inspired sounds, it’s now become something that’s being featured on Radio 1. My involvement has been purely about the scaffolding that supports the creative stuff they are doing - legal, financial, project management, online bits, design. I’ve enjoyed every minute of being involved with what they are doing.
It’s so cool to see the hard work they have both put in finally pay off and for people to start hearing what is truly an amazing record. It’s also nice to be part of a small family of inspiring people - Emily, my girlfriend, designed the covers and labels, and I’m so proud of the process she went through and final artwork, which looks great.
Anyway, enough back slapping. If you haven’t heard the record yet, go here. If you are one of those few people who care about owning it, you can buy it here. I strongly suggest you do buy it, it’s the people who buy this stuff that enable new good things to carry on being made.
We finally got around to building the likemind poster letters last night. It took 3 pairs of hands (me, Max and Emily), 3 fresh blades, various kinds of sticking materials and lot’s of patience. Head over to Emily’s site to see more of her design work, and if you want a pdf of your own to print and make, let me know.
