“It’s a terrible humiliation for RBS’s chief executive, Sir Fred Goodwin” —

I wonder if that humiliation will be as bad as that faced by the thousands of people about to lose their homes, businesses, pensions and savings.

Can it get more f*&ked up?  Oh yes.

I finally bit the bullit and purchased a Ricoh GR Digital II.
I wanted an everyday camera to take with me as much as possible.  I love my Sony SLR, but it’s massive, and intrusive.
There is something very appealing about the Ricoh.  It has a fixed focal length wide angle lens, so no zooming, just moving closer.  I think it’s the simplicity of it.  I’m looking forward to the “shoot first, think later” way of taking photo’s.
Expect more of my Ricoh images here soon - they also live on Flickr.
Here’s some more info on the GR Digital, seems nobodies updated the GR Digital II page on Wikipedia.

Looking forward to likemind bri next week.  More detail here.
Feeling the need to mention why I co-host likemind in Brighton.  Nothing pleases me more than to hear people talking about something they are passionate about.  I don’t even really care what that thing is, that’s not the most important bit.  I just love to meet other people doing stuff, good stuff.  Makes me want to do good stuff too.

I read this William Leith piece on Sunday, with Max sitting next to me.  It’s about being a single parent.
At first I thought, how lucky I am to have my son sitting next to me whilst I read this.  As I read more those thoughts of luck turned to sadness.
It’s not often I allow myself to feel sad about being a single dad.  I can’t.  Parents are constantly told to put the childs feelings first in everything they do.  So, I do.  Most of the time, when my son is not around, I walk round my family house, the house full of his stuff, and try to ignore the stuff that is so important to Max.  His bedroom is like a void in my house, sometimes used as a laundry room, mostly avoided.  Because when he is not here this house is just my house, I am not a single parent, I’m just me.  Me is good, but it’s kinda missing something a lot of the time.

I have a new project - it’s called Things I learned reading 101 Things I learned in Architecture School.
It’s likely to be more of a stream of consciousness than considered intelligent writing - and it’s for me more than anyone else.  Thought I’d share it anyhow.
