Rancilio Silvia Espresso machine arrived
As it arrived on a busy work day, my first use was pretty rushed. Compared with my Alessi coban, there are a lot more variables when grinding your own beans. Even though my first espresso was tipped down the sink due to the coffee being to fine a grind, my second was great, for my second attempt. More reports and photos later. (quickly typed from the blackberry in the school playground)

The UK is all about Starbucks, Latte’s and packaged sandwiches. I’d love to be able to goto a decent cafe or bar and drink a decent espresso and be surrounded by others doing the same - but instead I would be drinking a bitter brown drink surrounded by people drinking beer. There is no coffee culture.
